Sports stadiums and underground construction
Cementaid Everdure CALTITE System Hydrophobic and pore-blocking (HPI) ingredient for membrane-free, truly waterproof structural concrete
Designed by Architects and Structural Engineers, Building Design Partnership, prime contractor Galliford Try and concrete contractor Byrne Bros., over 78,000 m3 of concrete was used in its construction, much of it in the underground structure waterproofed using Everdure Caltite.
The game started on Wimbledon’s new No.1 court in 1997.
With limited space for many urban stadium venues, underground development is the only option to house many activities that do not need to take up ground level space, food storage, food preparation, changing rooms, facilities and equipment and, at Wimbledon, even the tennis museum is underground and waterproofed with Everdure Caltite.
In recent years, Everdure Caltite has been used in several new structures at Wimbledon, including the Players and Television Center built on the site of the old No.1 court, the new No.2 court sunk into the ground, the court 3, the redevelopment of courts 14 and 15, court 19 and various tunnels.
Waterproof concrete system
The Caltite waterproof concrete system is a practical and proven system that produces a moisture resistant and highly durable concrete that can be used either as a stand-alone system or incorporated as part of a dual system if required.
Caltite has a successful track record of over 60 years helping designers, developers and homeowners waterproof and protect concrete structures, even under the most aggressive conditions.
